Parent Teacher Association (PTA)
Who are the PTA?
All families are automatically members of our PTA when their child joins our school. We have a PTA committee which is made up of a small group of parents and teachers who meet regularly to discuss fundraising initiatives and organise events, and is supported by other parents and school staff who volunteer their time. We welcome any offers of help, ideas or feedback of our events.
What do the PTA do?
The PTA raises money for equipment and resources to enhance our children’s education experience and the school’s facilities.
The PTA also exists to provide closer links between home and school and it is an excellent way to bring staff, parents and friends together socially in support of the school, working towards a common goal.
How do we raise money?
Like most PTA's the majority of our funds are raised through the events we organise during the school year such as:
- School discos
- Summer and Christmas fayres
- Chocolate bingo
- Movie nights
- Secret Santa
We also raise money through initiatives such as stamptastic, the school lottery, easyfundraising and children's Christmas cards (details given out via the school at the appropriate time).
Each school year we have raised on average £4500 and have funded the following:
- Sports equipment
- Science week presenter
- Heath fields app
- Outdoor waterproof clothing
- Math resources
- Transport for school trips
How you can get involved
The more we raise, the more our children gain. Remember this is your PTA, raising funds for the children of the school, to support their education and school life in a variety of exciting and inspiring ways.
Donations from parents or local businesses are also extremely important. You can donate time, money, items for sale, raffle prizes or offers of services, skills or contacts.
Please request to join our facebook group ‘Heath Fields Primary School’ to be kept up to date with all our PTA activities and requests of help. You can also contact us by emailing hfpspta@gmail.com.
