The school year 6 Basketball team travelled today to Alfreton to represent Derbyshire in the County finals - this was the progression from winning the Derbyshire Level 2 Area mini basketball competition in December.

The team had a fantastic start winning their first game 6-0 against Erewash. The second game against Fairfield Juniors was fantastic to watch, Heath Fields were 4-0 down and fought back to draw 6-6. The third game showed Heath Fields demonstrating great team work and basketball skills, another win, 10-2. This left Heath Fields and St Albans joint first in their group on 7 points each. Our final game was against St Albans!! Sadly, as much as Heath Fields battled, St Albans were a very strong feisty team, score St Albans 6 Heath Fields 0. Having lost the final game, Heath Fields just missed out on going through to the Semi finals by 1 point!! Arrgghh!! A great performance from the team and a very respectful 5th, I was exceptionally proud of them all today and as usual they showed wonderful behaviour and respect to the other teams. Well done to all. Thank you to the parents for supporting and providing transport.
