An absolutely fantastic exhilarating final. HF’s were relentless. We played 6 matches and won all 6. The team didn’t look very impressed when I announced they were playing first and against Pennine Way, we took the win 8-0, a fantastic start. Second match was against a feisty St Edwards, we won 6-0. We had a match rest next which was great to get together and discuss tactics and movement before playing Etwall (the team we beat on Golden goal back in November to qualify for the final). Etwall defended well but we managed the win, 2-0. Our next match was against Fairmeadows, reigning champions from the last 6 years, no pressure then!! HF’s played brilliantly keeping possession of the ball well to win 6-2. Sadly though one of our girls was injured during this match and needed an A&E visit, suspected broken finger... we hope she is ok..Our final match was against Linton, they were hot on our heels, a great fight but we didn’t back down winning 8-4. 6 wins out of 6, exhausted we were Gold medal winners, trophy winners and 2018 champions, woohoo! Thank you team, they couldn’t have done any more, I felt extremely proud
